You Drink and Drive, You Lose

During this holiday season, it helps to remind everyone that drinking and driving is a bad idea. For that matter, driving after consuming excess quantities of any psychoactive substance is a bad idea. Please drive sober.

State Farm: Don’t drink and drive.

Average cost of a DUI in Illinois is $14,660, and that does not include any crash-related or injury-related costs.

Penalties, if convicted of DUI in Illinois, are harsh.

Don’t drive impaired or allow someone else to drive impaired. The Chicago Transit Authority continues its tradition of penny rides on New Year’s Eve; this is an excellent option if your NYE plans take you along a CTA route. Taxis are also a great option in both the city and the suburbs. If motoring is still the plan, choose a responsible designated driver.

Celebrate responsibly, so you can celebrate again!
